Albert “Bud” Wall, 79, of rural Marshalltown, died early Thursday morning, January 31st, at his home. Funeral services will held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, February 4th, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home with Pastor Harlan Nuss of the Lamoille Congregational Church officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Maple Hill Cemetery at Montour with flag presentation honors by the American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post #46. Friends may call at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home from 2-4:00 p.m. on Sunday. A memorial fund is being established. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Born on March 1, 1928, in Tama County, Iowa, he was the son of Albert A. and Sylvia (Shelton) Wall. He attended country schools and served our country honorably in the United States Navy from 1950 to 1954 and during the Korean War. On April 7th, 1951, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Joann “Jo” Adkins in Montour. They made their home near Marshalltown. Bud was employed as a Conoco tank wagon driver and in 1959 until 1974, worked at the Marshalltown Community School’s Bus Barn. He then worked for the State of Iowa as a school bus inspector and then the West Marshall Schools Director of Transportation until his retirement in the early 1990’s. He was a member of the Lamoille Congregational Church and the American Legion Frank Lewis Glick Post #46. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 56 years, Jo, five children: Robert “Bob” of Marshalltown, Brian of Janesville, MN., Jana (Mark) Malcom of Marshalltown, Jill (Todd) Funk of Ft. Wayne, IN., and Brett of Marshalltown, 15 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, his sister Pauline Schultz of Marshalltown, several nieces and nephews, dear close friends Bob and Velma Rempp and a host of friends. In death he has rejoined his parents, brothers Jim and Bob and sisters Agnes Green and Helen Green.
