MARION RESIDENT DIES
Lot Mills Invalid Fifteen Years Dies

After an invalidism of fifteen years, the last two of which he has been blind, Lot Mills, a resident of Marion township since the close of the civil war, died at 7 o'clock this morning at this home, one mile south of Green Mountain. Death was due to the infirmities of age.

Mr. Mills was a native of Indiana where hewas born January 18, 1842. He served in Company B, Eighth Iowa Infanry enlisting Sept 15, 1862, At Pittsburg Landing, Tennessee he was discharged oweing to disability.

Mr. Mills was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Bowles, who survives her husband with six of her eleven children. The living children are Mrs. Celestine Frnklin, Mrs. Lucinda Stackhouse, and Mrs Elizabeth Nelson of this city, Mrs. Ella Wallen of South Dakota,and Mrs. Leta McQuaid, and Miss Alta Mills, who are at home. another daughter, Mrs. Maggie Winters, died in 1908 in this city, and three daughters and a son died in infancy.

Funeral services will be held from the residence at 10 o'clock Friday, and from the Iowa River Church of the Brethren at 11 o'clock Friday. Interment will follow in the Iowa River Cemetery.
