Harry G. Mulder, 92, of Marshalltown, Iowa, formerly of Mitchell, South Dakota, died Saturday, January 19, 2008, at the Ogden Manor in Ogden, Iowa.

Funeral services celebrating his life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 24th, at Fellowship Baptist Church in Marshalltown with Pastor Ed Hannahs officiating. Visitation will be at Fellowship Baptist Church from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. For condolences, please visit www.mitchellfh.com. Memorials may be directed to the Fellowship Bapist Church. He will be laid to rest at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 26th, at Graceland Cemetery in Corsica, SD, with Pastor Carroll Torberson officiating a graveside service. A luncheon will follow at First Reformed Church in Mitchell, SD.

Born on January 14, 1916, in Corsica, South Dakota, he was the son of John and Mary (Heusinkveld) Mulder. He graduated from Corsica High School and received his 2 year teaching degree from the state teacher college in Springfield, South Dakota. He then received his 4 year teaching degree from Northern State College in Aberdeen, South Dakota. Harry was united in marriage to Joyce Larson on May 17, 1941, near Mission, South Dakota. She passed away in 1983. In 1992, he married Mildred Klein in Mitchell, South Dakota. She then passed away in 2000. Harry has resided primarily in Corsica and Mitchell, South Dakota, and Marshalltown, Iowa.

Harry was employed for a few years as a teacher and then was a watch maker, as well as a painter and carpenter. He especially enjoyed music and woodworking. Harry was a charter member of the First Reformed Church in Mitchell, SD, sang in the Mitchell Men’s Chorus, served as a volunteer handyman at Mitchell Christian School, and was also a member of Gideons International. He had recently joined Fellowship Baptist Church in Marshalltown.

Left to cherish his memory are his children: Jon (Marilyn) Mulder of Marshalltown and Jean (Don) Voogt of Hilbert, WI; his grandchildren: Marijoice (Nathan) Huston of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, Walter Mulder of Washington D.C., Melissa Mulder, William Mulder, Wesley Mulder, Margaret Mulder, Melanie Mulder, Monica Mulder, Watson Mulder, Winston Mulder, and Wilson Mulder, all of Marshalltown, Justin (Mary) Voogt of Grand Rapids, MI, Ryan (Shannon) Voogt of Lansing, MI, and Kevin Voogt of Boca Raton, FL; great-grandchildren: Titus, Silas, and Amos Huston; and brother, William Mulder of Corsica, SD.

In death he has rejoined his parents, his first wife Joyce, and second wife Mildred.
