Funeral Services for Helen E. Monroe, 93, who left this earthly life January 6, 2008 at Villa Del Sol in Marshalltown, will be held 11: OO A.M. Wednesday, January 9, 2008 at St. John United Church of Christ in Melbourne Iowa. Visitation will be held 5 to 7 P.M. Tuesday at the church. Helen was born in Marshall County August 2, 1914 to Ethel and Simon Propp.
She married Ashley Monroe in 1937 at the Little Brown Church and together they were blessed with four children.
Helen assisted her husband farming and was a laundry supervisor at the Marshall County Care Facility. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Melbourne, her church guild and the Get Together Club.
She will be missed by her children: Richard (Kay) Monroe, Robert (Judy) Monroe, William Monroe and Mary (Ken) Surber, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
Helen joins her husband of 67 years Ashley, her grandson Mark and her brother Lawrence Propp in eternal life.
