Ellen V. Sienknecht, 93, of rural Gladbrook died Sunday, Jan 6, at the
Westbrook Acres Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 9 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lincoln Salem United Church of Christ with Rev. Wade Ditty officiating. Burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Goettsch-Perrin Funeral Home in Gladbrook.
Ellen was born June 1, 1914 to Henry and Alvena (Landt) Storjohann in Tama
County Iowa. She married Vincent Sienknecht on Feb 6, 1935. She was a
member of Lincoln Salem Church, and a longtime member of the Lincoln Ladies
AmVets Auxiliary post #10. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and fishing. She
will be missed by her children Joan (Terry) Haverly, Janice (Jim) Zwyers,
and Robert (Alice) Sienknecht, 9 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, 3
great-great-grandchildren, her sisters; Ina Billerbeck, Alverta Dodson and
Helen Harders and a brother; Alvin Storjohann. She is reunited in eternal
life with her husband of 66 years Vincent & her brothers Clarence, Albert,
John and Pete, and a sister Leta Paustian. Memorial contributions may be
made to her church or AmVets Post #10.n
