Ethel appears to have died young. According to both the 1900 and 1910 federal census records, Clara Colston gave birth to 3 children, however only one [George Frank born May 25, 1877 who was listed along with Ethel in Hannibal, Missouri in the 1880 census] was living as recorded by the census enumerator.

1900 Census: Harriman, Roane, Tennessee; T623; Roll 1593; Page: 14A; Enumeration District: 0125;

1910 Census: Brookfield Ward 3, Linn, Missouri; T624; Roll 795; Page: 13A; Enumeration District: 0071;
