Dowdens in Marion County

DOWDEN, MILLER, PENDRY, VANDEVENTER, HOWE

I am looking for information on Otho Dowden and wife Sophia Vandeventer who came to Marion County after 1770. There were eight boys and one woman.
Otho and Sophia came to IA. via Ohio, to ILL. where he enlisted in the Union Army. After the 1870 census he moved to IA. My grandfather John C. Dowden (one of the sons)married Julia Miller and had one daughter: Maude! She died before 1895 and John married Cora Howe of Warren Co.
Any help would be appreciated.
