Samuel Richardson marriage record

Im looking for any info on my G Grandfather Samuel Richardson.I found (on ancestry.com) a Samuel Richardson + spouse Rachel A Carter..Marriage date 14 Jun 1868..County: Marion State IA My G Great grandmother was Rachel Carter. I wrote to the Recorder in Marion Co and was told their records don't go back as far as 1868. I know Samuel was married before Rachel and had two childred David and Maggie but I don't know her name. Any infor would sure be appreciated and will pay a research fee. Thanks!
