My great-grandfather was William L. FROGGATT, born Aug 31, 1849 in Leeds, England. He was married to Clare Walker on Apr 2, 1872 in IA. They had five children:

Wilbur Owen born Feb 17, 1873 (my grandfather)

Clarence Ellsworth born May 20, 1875

Benjamin Franklin born Jul 17, 1878

Infant daughter born May 19, 1883, died May 29,1883, buried in Graceland Cemetary, Knoxville.

Paulina Luella born Jul 6, 1887

William L. owned a very successful furniture store & mortuary in Knoxville, Marion Co., Iowa for many years. He put a FROGGATT stamp on his furniture which was highly regarded. Does anyone still own a piece of furniture with this stamp?

He sold his business to his oldest son, Wilbur about 1900. Wilbur was married to Ola Grinter Crewdson on July 24, 1895 in Knoxville, IA. They had four children born in Knoxville:

Donald born Sep 27,1896, died in infancy and buried in Graceland Cemetary;

Helen born 1898

Ruby Alleyne born Aug 31, 1903 &

Thelma Marilda (my mother)born Sep 21, 1904
Would some kind soul find and copy their birth certificates or at least my mother, Thelma's??

Grandfather Wilbur, with a partner, Mr.Roberts, continued the business. I have an old photograph of the two of them in front of the store, FROGGATT & ROBERTS. As his health deteriorated, my grandfather Wilbur sold his share of the business to his partner, Mr. Roberts, and moved with his family to Roseau County, Minnesota in 1913.

Any information you can give me regarding my grandparents and this business would be very greatfully received. I was sent a picture of the store by someone on the Internet some time ago, but a disasterous computer crashed wiped out my entire hard drive, and I was left with nothing! So now I am trying to recreate my data.

William L. is buried in Graceland Cemetary as is his infant daughter. I would love to have a photograph of their graves if someone would be willing to go there and take pictures. I would pay for film, postage et cetera.

Please contact me if you can give me ANY information. I thank you in advance for your help.
