SOURCE: Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville, Marion, Iowa (Old Section)
Block 14 lot 6 Goering, Estelle Mae 1876-1921
I was very surprised to see that buried next to her are those I know, from family bible entries, to be her parents.

SOURCE: Phillips, William 1844-1921. Co K 19th Ind., GAR; Louisa, wf 1854-1921 This is her mother and dad, I believe.

SOURCE: It was also surprising to see that all three died in 1921. Perhaps there was an epidemic in the area that affected them? Now I've got to ask Barb to get the complete pension and service records for William (Henry A.) Phillips when she goes up to DC next weekend. I just can't wait six months, as I've always thought this gentleman was a dead end and am most eager to get everything I can on him.

THEIR ONLY CHILD WAS MY GRANDMOTHER, FRANCES IRENE GOERING, born 22 Aug 1905, Chariton, Lucas, Iowa. Died: 12 Jan 1974, Renton, King, Washington.

Write and let me know if any of this makes sense to you in relation to your family tree.
