There were Iowa state censuses in 1885 and 1895. The 1905 and 1915 state censuses are apparently very difficult to read. In addition to these, some censuses were taken in specific counties or cities during the years you mention, but none so far as I know in Marion County. You can get information about borrowing or buying these censuses from the following link to the Iowa Historical Society.
