Gullion, Glen Floyd 1924-2005

Glen Floyd Gullion was born Feb. 6, 1924, in Columbia. He was one of nine children born to Pearle May Hibbets and Guy Curtis Gullion. Glen grew up in the Columbia area.

He was united in marriage to Viola Marie Temple in 1947. They had three children; Betty, Linda and Larry.

Glen farmed for many years. He also worked at Maytag. Glen, Viola and the children worked hard on the family farm.

Glen moved to town in 1974. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchild. Glen died July 21 at the Knoxville Area Community Hospital at the age of 81.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one daughter.

He is survived by his daughter, Linda Van Ekeren of Knoxville; one son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Lila Gullion of Knoxville; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild and two more on the way; eight brothers and sisters, Stanley Gullion of Des Moines, Howard Gullion and his wife, Shirley of Oskaloosa, Louise Roush and her husband, Marion of Melrose, Leta Kingery and her husband, Leo of Columbia, Blanche Kingery and her husband, Jack of Knoxville, Pat Gullion and his wife, Lee of Knoxville, Ralph Gullion and his wife, Carole of Knoxville and Marlene Maulsby and her husband, Jim of Macon, MO.

Funeral services were held on July 23 with Pastor Kirk Erwin officiating. Interment was in Gosport Cemetery in rural Marion County.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa-Knoxville.
