Arnold Lee "Bud" Smith Jr., 33, of Oskaloosa, died Wednesday, Dec. 26, on Highway T-39 in rural Mahaska County in an automobile accident.

His funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial: Graceland Cemetery, Knoxville. Visiting hours will be 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to his family.

Arnold Lee "Bud" Smith Jr. was born in Unionville, Mo. on Aug. 13, 1968, to Darlene Elizabeth Wright and Arnold Lee Smith Sr. He served in the United States Army. He was a forklift driver at Pella Corp. for the past nine years. He enjoyed golf and frisbee golf. He cheered for Dale Earnhardt in NASCAR racing and the San Francisco 49ers during football season. He was an avid hunter, especially of deer and quail.

He is survived by his mother, Darlene Wright of Oskaloosa; his father, Arnold Lee Smith Sr. of Newton; his stepmother, Diana Smith of Newton; two sisters: Marlene E. Shields of Oskaloosa and Debra A. Smith of Oskaloosa; a brother: Edwin L. Smith of San Ysidro, N.M.; two daughters: Amber J. and Larissa R. Smith of Oskaloosa; and two sons: Josh and Chris Valster of Pella.
