Robert "Bob" W. Dillon, 69, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Knoxville, died Sunday, Dec. 1, at Pleasant Park Estates.

His funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Garland Van Arkel-Langkamp Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa, the Rev. Michael Crouch of First Christian Church in Oskaloosa officiating. Burial: Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Visiting hours are open Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with family present 5-7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorials: Pleasant Park Estates Nursing Home.

Robert Wayne Dillon was born Jan. 6, 1933, in Des Moines to Ralph Henry and Irma Mae Hickman Dillon. They moved to Oskaloosa when Bob was a child. He attended Oskaloosa schools and was a 1952 graduate of Oskaloosa High School. He was the class historian and worked at the Rivola Theater while in high school. He attended American Institute of Business in Des Moines, then Indian Hills Community College in Ottumwa, where he earned his LPN degree.

He married Margaret Lee Kading on Sept. 3, 1967, in Knoxville. She died April 2, 1991. He worked at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Knoxville for 14 years, and later at various other nursing homes, including Griffin Nursing Home in Knoxville. He retired in 1994 and returned to Oskaloosa to care for his parents. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Knoxville, and Masonic Lodge Oriental Lodge 61 in Knoxville. He enjoyed scrapbooking, bingo and watching old movies.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Christopher and Shannon Dillon of Knoxville; a daughter, Kimberly Dillon of West Des Moines; and five grandchildren: Haley and Kristen Dillon, and Linus, Mary Jane and Luke Countryman.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife.
