Howard O. Chrismore, 81, of Oskaloosa and formerly of Knoxville, died Sunday, Dec. 1, at Pleasant Park Estates in Oskaloosa.

A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Gullion Cemetery south of Attica, the Rev. Gary McDonough officiating. Visiting hours begin 4 p.m. today, Dec. 2, at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa.

Howard O. Chrismore was born March 11, 1921, in Marion County to Carroll and Margery Robuck Chrismore. He lived in Marion County until moving to Oskaloosa in 1991. He loved the outdoors and animals.

He is survived by his caregiver, Judy Van Rees of Oskaloosa, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
