PELLA - Ruth I. Dingeman, 97, of Pella, died Thursday, July 25, in the Long Term Care Unit of Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church in Pella. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Visiting hours are open today until 8:30 p.m. at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella, with family present 6-8 p.m. today. Memorials: Hospice of Pella Comfort House.

Ruth I. Hoagland was born Dec. 25, 1904, in Jasper County near Monroe to James and Laura Hevlir Hoagland. She married Daniel Dingeman on Dec. 25, 1922, in Newton. He died Oct. 28, 1961. She was a homemaker, and enjoyed flowers, gardening square dancing and fishing.

She is survived by four daughters and three sons-in-law: Jean and Donald Thomas of Winterset, Betty and Tom Carlson of Evanston, Ill., Uella and R. Bill Peters of Pella, and Priscilla Steenhoek of Otley; three sons and daughters-in-law: Hershel and Gene Dingeman of Pella, James and Nancy Dingeman of Pella and Duane and Golding Dingeman of Pella; 35 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 35 step-grandchildren; 14 step-great-grandchildren; and a step-great-great-grandchild.
