PELLA - Nancy B. Dingeman, 69, of Pella, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, at Pella Regional Health Center.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Pella, the Rev. John McNabb officiating. Burial: Oakwood Cemetery, Pella. Memorials: Hospice of Pella or First Baptist Church of Pella. Visiting hours at Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella are open today until 4 p.m. The family will greet visitors 7-8:30 p.m. today at the church.

Nancy Blanche Van Maanen was born Nov. 10, 1932, in Oskaloosa to Reuben and Luella Gertrude Vander Linden Van Maanen. She attended Pella Community Schools and graduated in 1950. During high school she played basketball and began showing horses. She enjoyed showing horses in competitions with her uncle, Albert Van Maanen. Following high school graduation, Nancy began working in the office at Rolscreen, then for the Farmer's Cooperative Exchange in Pella.

On June 15, 1951, she married James Harold Dingeman at First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Because of Jim's military service they lived in Colorado, Kansas and Kentucky until his discharge in 1955. They then lived in Pella. Nancy had assisted Jim in operating Pella Construction Co. since 1970; their children now operate the company.

For the past two years Nancy has been treated for colon cancer. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Pella, where she participated in Bible study. She enjoyed reading and traveling. For the past 17 years she and Jim spent winners in Arizona.

She was a member of Marion County and Pella historical societies, and was interested in genealogy. She enjoyed bridge and was in two bridge clubs. She was a member of Pella Golf and Country Club. She also enjoyed attending her children's and grandchildren's games and activities.

She is survived by her husband, Jim; three children and spouses: Dennis and Jane Vande Haar Dingeman, Barbara Mathes, and Janis and Steven Vermeer, all of Pella; and seven grandchildren: James Oren, Katelyn Susanne and Benjamin Pieter Dingeman, Scott James and Jay Andrew Mathes, and Alicia Suzanne and Zoe Ann Vermeer, all of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
