PELLA - LaVerda A. De Nooy, 82, of Pella, died Tuesday, July 9, at Pella Regional Health Center.

Her funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Sully Christian Reformed Church in Sully. Burial: Sully Cemetery. Memorials: Pella Christian High School, Sully Christian Grade School or Hospice of Pella. Visiting hours at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella are open today until 5 p.m. Visiting hours at Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Sully are 6:30-8 p.m. today.

LaVerda Van Wyk was born July 13, 1919, in Killduff to John Will and Ella Wyngarden Van Wyk.

She married Andrew D. De Nooy on Jan. 21, 1949, at the Sully Reformed Church Parsonage. She had lived 20 years in Pella, and also many years on a farm near Reasnor. She was a homemaker. She attended Covenant Reformed Church in Pella.

She enjoyed neighborhood Bible study and working with other women at the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella.

She is survived by her husband, Andrew, of Pella; three sons and daughters-in-law: Carroll and Deb De Nooy of Sioux Center, Arvin and Brenda De Nooy of Sully, and Ron and Bonnie De Nooy of Reasnor; two daughters and sons-in-law: Dorothy and Stan Hiemstra of Knoxville and Carla and Les Nieuwsma of Pella; 17 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers: Harold Van Wyk of Sully and Ralph Van Wyk of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Iola Bartels; and two brothers, Raymond Van Wyk and an infant brother.
