Obituary from funeral card

Walter Frank Kingery was born on July 8, 1922 in Knoxville, Iowa the son of George Kingery and Jennie (DeHeer) Kingery.

He was raised in the Knoxville area and attended West River Ridge School. On July 25, 1942 he was united in marriage to Mathilde "Tillie" Vanceunebrock in Princeton, Missouri. To this union seven children were born. The couple first made their home in the Coalridge community. Walter and Tillie farmed in the Coalridge area until 1948 when they moved to their present farm south of Knoxville. Walter farmed all of his life; he loved being a steward of the land and raising livestock. He and Tillie instilled faith, a strong work ethic, and responsibility in all of their children.

Waler enjoyed the simple things in life; fishing in the pond, mushroom hunting or a special trip to Canada with the boys. He enjoyed being around children. Kids would easily warm up to him because of his gently demeanor. His greatest joy in life was his family; he lived spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Board of Directors of the Farmer's Co-op. In recent years he has faithfully attended the New Covenant Church.

Walter passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at his home at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 10 days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Tillie, three sisters, Clara, Millie, and Naomi and a brother, Ray.

Those left to honor his memory include 7 children: Gary Kingery (Carol), Linda Lambert (Ken), Mary Olivier (Alvin), Steve Kingery (Judy), Judy Pitt, (Mike) and Carol Pearson (Danny) all of Knoxville and Renee Wallace (Rob) of Hamilton: 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 3 step great-grandchildren and many other family members and friends.
