OBITUARY FOR CLARA BELLE NICHOLS From funeral card

Clara was born on December 27, 1902 in Coal Port, Iowa, the daughter of George and Jennie DeHeer Kingery. She attended school in Coal Port.

She married Charles Nichols, Sr. on April 1, 1925 in Knoxville. They spent their early married life farming in Marion county later moving to Knoxville. Clara spent most of her time as a mother and homemaker. She was also a long time member of the First United Methodist Church.

Clara died Monday January 6, 1992 at Griffin Nursing Center in Knoxville at the age of 89 years and 9 days.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on May 19, 1974, one brother and two sisters.

She is survived by three sons, Robert (Leta) of Knoxville, Charles, Jr. (Carolyn) of Chariton, Iowa and George (Joanne) of Winterset, Iowa; one daughter, Mrs. Bennie (Phyllis) Willetts of Knoxville; one brother, Walter (Tillie) Kingery of Knoxville; ten grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
