Services for Millie June Bailey who died Feb. 7, 1989 were held Feb. 10 at the First Baptist church in Knoxville with the Rev. Robert Smith, officiating and Bybee & Davis funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Interment was in Coal Ridge Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Michael Lambert, James Lambert, Joseph Lambert, Daryl Bailey, Donal Bailey, Jeffery Bailey and Randy Bailey. Honorary Pallbearers were Priscilla Bishop, Teresa Wilson, Janice Leinen, Lynnette Clark, Julie Petersen, Linda Donahue, Regenia Bailey, Melissa VanEck, and Reva Bailey.

Mrs. Bailey was born June 8, 1907 to George Kingery and Jennie DeHeer Kingery in the Coal Ridge area. On May 19, 1926 she was united in marriage to Charles C. Bailey in Des Moines. To this union five children were born, Harold, Lena Mae, James, Marion and Marvin. Millie helped Charlie with the many aspects of farming, as well as being a homemaker. She was a faithful member of the Coal Ridge Church, and later at the First Baptist Church in Knoxville. She was a Sunday School teacher for many years and also active in her Mission Circle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Ray, a sister Naomi and a granddaughter Rebecca.

Survivors include her husband Charles four sons, Harold, James and Marion, all of Knoxville, and Marvin of Iowa City; one daughter, Lena Mae Lambert of Moroe; one brother, Walter Kingery, and a sister, Clar Nichols, both of Knoxville, 16 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church.
