Funeral services for Maribelle Van Tuyl, 62, of Des Moines, formerly of Pella who died Feb. 3, were held Saturday, Feb. 7, at Second Reformed Church in Pella Revs. Stephen and Sophie and Mathonnet-Vander Well, officiated the service with Dr. Davis Folkerts as organist and Judy Steenhoek, soloist.

Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella.

Jenny Maribelle Koons was born on April 18, 1922 at North Henderson, Ill. to Ivan Carl and Bernice Hester Meeker Koons. She attended the Maple Ridge Country Grade School and graduated from Galesburg High School at Galesburg, Ill. She then enrolled at Monmouth College at Monmouth, Illinois where she attended for two years majoring in elementary education and was inducted into the Kappa Delta Sorority.

She was united in marriage with William Lee Van Tuyl on July 31, 1942 by the college president on the campus of Monmouth College.

They had three children Mary Lynn, Thomas William and Charles Jeffrey.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 62 years, Bill L. Van Tuyl of West Des Moines; their daughter, M. Lynn Vander Linden and her husband, Bob Vander Linden of Clive; a son Charles J. Van Tuyl and his wife, Francesca Wede-Van Tuyl of Pella, Iowa; a daughter-in-law, Christine (Thomas W.) Van Tuyl of Des Moines; and four grandchildren.

Maribelle was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan and Bernice Koons and their son, Thomas Wm. Van Tuyl.

For those desiring, memorials may be given for the Second Reformed Church of Pella, Iowa or Hospice of Central Iowa, 900 56th Street, Des Moines, Iowa 50312-1806.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.
