Funeral services for Edna Torres, 86, of Pella, who died Jan. 15, were held Jan. 19, at New Hope Community Church in Pella. Rev. John Ritsema officiated the service. Larry Jansen was organist.

Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casketbearers were Tony Torres, Greg Stump, Glenn Chapman, Melvin Wichhart, Marvin Klein and Mike Van Steenwyk. Honorary bearers were Jennifer Torres and Misty and Destiny Cogley.

Edna Bernice Torres, daughter of Tone and Minnie (Klein) Messemaker was born December 3, 1916, in Pella. Edna was united in marriage with Jack Straun. Following Jack's death, on October 22, 1977, she married Felix V. Torres in Colorado.

She owned and operated Edna's, a furniture and thrift store, and the Busy Bee Café, while living in Pueblo, Col.

She is survived by her son, Felix Torres and his wife, Tia, of Pella; two grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and two sisters, Caroline Chapman and Hattie Needham of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Jack Straun and Felix Torres; two brothers, Charlie and Roy Klein; and two sisters, Jeanette Wichhart and Lucille Bennett.

Memorials can be made to the Hospice of Pella

Funeral arrangements were handled by Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
