Funeral services for Evelyn Mae Beyer Rouw, 94, of Pella, who died Jan. 28, were held Jan. 31, at First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. Rev. Stephen Veldhuis, officiated the service. Edith Meppelink, was organist.

Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casketbearers were her "grandsons" Scott Rouw, Allen Rouw, Steven Rouw, Timothy Rouw, Todd Rouw and Thomas Rouw.

Evelyn Mae Beyer was born on August 5, 1909 near Otley to Arie and Marie Van Zee Beyer. She attended the Valley Country Grade School near Otley.

On December 4, 1930 she was united in marriage with William Rouw. They were married at Otley and to this union three sons were born: Albert E., Marvin A. and Kenneth W. Evelyn operated the Taste Rite Caf? in Pella. She and Bill then re-opened the West End Cafe following a fire that had destroyed the building. Bill passed away on May 28, 1997 at the age of 90 years.

Evelyn is survived by their three sons and their wives: Albert and Anna Mae Rouw of Pella; Marvin and Bonnie Rouw of Pella; Kenneth and Nori Gerdes Rouw of Boulder City, Nev.; 11 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. Of her original family she leaves one sister, Alta De Raad and a brother, Arthur J.(Bob) Beyer and his wife, Elma of Pella; her three sisters-in-law: Bertha Beyer of Oskaloosa; Henrietta Beyer and Etta Van Zee both of Pella; and another sister-in-law: Cora Kuiper of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; her parents: Arie and Marie Beyer; two sisters: Bertha Van Zee and Elizabeth Tuinstra; two brothers: Henry A. Beyer and Gerrit Beyer; and her brothers-in-law: Herman Tuinstra, William A. Van Zee and Arthur De Raad.

For those desiring, memorials may be designated for the mission fund of the First Christian Reformed Church of Pella.

Funeral arrangements were handled by Van Dyk-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.
