Funeral services for Nick A. Leydens, 48, of Pella formerly of Colfax, who died died March 2, were held March 5, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Colfax. Rev. Philip Cardenzana and Rev. Robert Gruss oficiated the service.
Interment was at the Colfax Cemetery.

Nick A. Leydens was born on March 26, 1955 in Des Moines, the son of Nicholas & Mary (Stremfel) Leydens. Nick graduated from the special education program at Colfax High School. He worked in the workshop at the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella. He moved with his parents to Pella in 1979.

Nick was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church while in Colfax and later St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pella.

Nick is survived by his parents, Nicholas and Mary of Pella, a brother, Tom Leydens and his wife Kelly of West Des Moines; a sister, Marilyn Bell and her husband Robert of Johnston as well as nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be given to the Christian Opportunity Center in Pella, Hospice of Pella or St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pella.

Walters Coburn Funeral home in Colfax is caring for Nick and his family.
