Funeral services for Michael M. McNamar, 58, of Bettendorf, formerly of Pella, who died Feb. 9, were held Feb. 14, at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Albia. Rev. Kevin M. Leveck, officiated the service. Julie Bettis was soloist.

Interment was at Mt. Ararat Cemetery in Centerville.

On November 30, 1945 Michael Maurice McNamar was born in Des Moines. He was an only child born to Wesley Lorraine and Ilah Arvilla Mc Coy McNamar. In 1956 his father, Wesley L. McNamar, became the City Clerk for the City of Pella at which time they moved to Pella. Michael continued his education at the Pella Public Schools graduating from Pella High School in 1963. He went on to attend Iowa State University at Ames from where he graduated in 1967 with a Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Degree.

On March 16, 1968 he was united in marriage with Johanna Christina Katrien Molenaar at Hollandale, Minn.

Michael is survived by his two children: Cathleen and her husband, Ryan Hein of Blue Grass; Christopher McNamar of Davenport; one grandchild; and his mother, Ilah.

Michael was preceded in death by his father, Wesley L. McNamar.

For those desiring, memorials may be given to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.
