Funeral services for Emma L. Dieleman, 96, of Pella, who died Feb. 23, were held, Feb. 25, at the Third Reformed Church in Pella. Rev. Kevin Korver officiated at the service. Judy Steenhoek was Organist/Vocalist.

Interment was held at Graceland Cemetery in Pella. Casket bearers were her "granddaughters" Cheryl Elsloo, Sandra Veenstra, Deb Boyd Cathy Law, Carey De Witt, Deanne Gibson, and Melanie Donohue.

Emma Dieleman, daughter of Marinus and Mary (Hoksbergen) Van Haaften was born Jan. 2, 1908 near Pella.

On Jan. 14, 1931, she was united in marriage to Elmer Dieleman in Sully. To this union, four children were born: Wilma, Ron, Merle, and Ed. The early years of their marriage were spent farming in the Sandridge area northeast of Pella. The family moved to rural New Sharon in 1941 where they farmed and raised their family. In 1974, Elmer and Emma retired and moved to Pella.

She is survived by her three sons and their wives: Ron and Carolyn Dieleman of Pella, Merle and Peggy Dieleman of Bettendorf, and Ed and Marcia Dieleman of Oskaloosa; eleven grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law and his wife, Marion and Treva Dieleman of Pella; and a sister-in-law, Margaret Van Haaften of Pella.

She was preceded in death by her parents; parents-in-law; husband; a daughter and son-in-law, Wilma and Chester Terpstra; two sisters, Josie Groenendyk and Minnie Vos; five brothers, Louis, Arie, Roy, Henry, and Lester Van Haaften.

Memorials may be made to the Hospice of Pella Comfort House.

Arrangements were made by Garden Chapel Funeral Home.
