Funeral services for Henry A. De Vries, 92, of Pella, who died March 8 were held March 11 at Otley Reformed Church in Otley. Rev. Vance Elsinga officiated the service. Nora De Reus was organist.

Interment was at Graceland Cemetery in Pella.

Henry De Vries, was born July 11, 1911 to Arie and Josie (Beyer) De Vries.

On October 8, 1943, Henry was united in marriage to Erma Helen Roorda in Otley. To this union four children were born: Arvin Edward, Neva Louise, Emily Jean and Mark Allen. Henry farmed near Leighton prior to moving to the Otley area. The family lived in the Otley area for forty-five years where they engaged in farming.

Henry worked as a mechanic for Arnold Witzenberg in the wintertime and later worked at Pella Corporation, retiring in 1975. Henry loved tinkering and gardening. He was a member of the Otley Reformed Church, the American Legion, and served in the army during World War II.

He is survived by his son and his wife, Mark and Deborah De Vries of Pella; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother John De Vries of Buffalo Center; two sisters, Edith Kuyper and Josephine Vander Leest both of Pella; two sisters- in -law, Edith and Gertrude De Vries; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; three children, Arvin, Neva, and Emily; four brothers, Everet, Bill, Carl, and Art De Vries; and on sister, Grace Vink.

Memorial may be made to the Otley Reformed Church in Otley.

Funeral arrangements were made by Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
