Funeral Services for Julia I. Verros, 95, of Pella were held March 10, 2003 at Garden Chapel Funeral Home, Inc., the Rev. John Van Den Berg officiating. Music was provided by pianist Barb Nunnikhoven.

Interment was at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella. Casket bearers were Steven Verros, James Van Arkel, Randy Bloem, Merlin Van Dyk, Brad Miller, and Gerald Verros.

Mrs. Julia I. Verros, the daughter of Marion and Anna (JaBaai) Van Arkel, was born June 17, 1907, in Montezuma. She grew up near New Sharon. On February 14, 1934, Julia was united in marriage with David Verros in Pella. To this union, three children were born: Norman, Marvin and Myra. After their marriage she and her husband farmed near Harvey for four years before moving to Otley.

In 1976, after her husband's death, Julia moved to Pella. She was a resident at Fair Haven for over twenty years before moving to Pella regional Long Term Care facility in October of 2002. Julia was a life-long homemaker.

She was an active member of the Otley Reformed Church where she taught Sunday School, Bible School and was a long-time member of Third Reformed Church in Pella.

She enjoyed gardening, growing flowers both indoors and outdoors, crocheting afghans, writing poetry, and played the piano by ear. Later in life she had an organ and a keyboard she enjoyed playing.

Julia passed away on Friday, March 7, 2003, at the age of ninety-five years, eight months, and eighteen days.

She is survived by her children: Norman Verros and his wife, Lorraine of Pella; Marvin Verros of Otley; and Myra Verros of Des Moines; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Marion and Anna Van Arkel; her husband David Verros; three brothers, John Van Arkel, Harry Van Arkel and Leonard Van Arkel; and two sisters, Mary Van Dyk and Elise Van Arkel.

Arrangements were handled by the Garden Chapel in Pella.
