Funeral services for Mr. John H. Renaud, 84, of Pella were held March 15, at Berean Baptist Church in Pella, with Mr. L. Douglas Nicolet speaking. Music was provided by organist Mr. Kirk Dunsbergen and soloist Mr. Dale Jansen.

Interment were held at Oakwood Cemetery in Pella with Mr. Henry Short speaking. Casket bearers were Michael Andersen, Kirk Dunsbergen, Paul E. Renaud, Edmund Renaud, Mark Renaud, James Renaud, Gerrit Renaud, and Leo Renaud.

John H. Renaud was born on May 1, 1918 on a farm south of Sully. He was the third of thirteen children that were born to Paul Henry and Lydia Van Der Pol Renaud. John was educated in the country grade school and received the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age.

On March 19, 1942 he was united in marriage with Grace Elscot at the home of her parents, John and Maggie Brand Elscott near Taintor. To this union one daughter, Joyce Marlene, was born on March 25, 1946. Following their marriage, John and Grace began farming south of Sully and continued farming northwest of Sully until moving into Pella in 1985. Although retired, John and Grace continued going back to the farm in his old pickup. On Wednesday afternoon, March 12, John passed away at the Pella Regional Health Center in Pella.

John is survived by his wife of 61 years, Grace Renaud of Pella; their daughter, Joyce M. Roorda and her husband, Dean Allen of Newton; two granddaughters and their husbands; and four great-grandchildren. John also leaves his brothers and sisters and their spouses; Paul E. and Dorothy Renaud of Pella, James and Gladys (Elscott) Renaud of Sully, Johnanna Renaud of Pella, Lydia and Henry Roossinck of Fremont, Minn. ,Edmund and Miriam Renaud of Iowa Falls, Gerrit Renaud of Pella, Mary and John Verratti of Gasport, New York, Mark and Patricia Renaud of Pella, Leo and Marguerite Renaud of Lynnville. John leaves his two sisters-in-law along with five other sisters-in -law and their husbands.

John was preceded in death by parents, Paul H. and Lydia Renaud and his three brothers: Harold Renaud, Glen Renaud and his wife Dorothy, Carrol Renaud; and his sisters-in-law, Dora (Paul E.) Renaud and Jean (Gerrit) Renaud.

Arrangements were handled by Van Dyke-Duven Funeral Home in Pella.
