Funeral services for Gertrude Brower, 83 formerly of Pell, who passed away Dec. 4, were held Dec. 8 at First Reformed Church in Pella.

Gertrude was born April 4, 1920 in Prairie City, the youngest of 13 children born to Delis & Berdina (Vruegh) Sterk.

She was united in marriage to Virgil Brower in December of 1945 in Oskaloosa. They were later divorced.

Gertrude had been employed at Roll Screen in Pella for 17 years prior to her retirement in 1990. She was an active member of the First Christian Reformed Church Pella, until she moved to Bettendorf to be closer to her family.

She is survived by two sons and their families: Leon and Peggy Brower of Bettendorf and Jeff and Nancy Brower of Paola, Kan. and six grandchildren.

She was proceeded in death by her 12 brothers and sister.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer Unit at Good Samaritan Nursing Center 700 Waverly Rd. in Davenport, 52804.

The Runge Mortuary & Crematory Davenport is assisting with the arrangements.
