Funeral services for Dorothy M. (Needham) Brooks, 75, of Fort Worth, who died Tuesday, July 15, 2003, at her home, were held Friday at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Interment was at Laurel Land Memorial Park of Fort Worth.

Dorothy was born on May 4, 1928, in Monroe. She attended school in Pella and graduated from Pella Community High School in 1946.

Dorothy, a homemaker, graced everyone she met with a wonderful sense of humor, a smile and a lively spirit. She raised three children with her husband, Gerald. They enjoyed exploring the country with the Lone Star Royal Rovers Travel Club and were members since 1976. She enjoyed playing bridge and found joy in watching birds play and flowers dance.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Delmar and Leslie Needham.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Gerald Brooks; two sons, Larry Brooks and wife, Fran, and Tom Brooks and wife, Judie; a daughter, Deb Kirby; six grandchildren, Tina Rash, Tara and Steven Brooks, Cari Tiller, Rachel and Holly Kirby; and two great-grandchildren, Jayde Kettner and Mikayla Rash.

Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Colleyville, 5601 Pleasant Run Rd., Colleyville, Texas 76034.

Arrangements were made by Laurel Land Funeral Home.
