Funeral services for Ben Beyer, 81, who passed away Oct. 13, were held Oct. 16 at the First Reformed Church in Sully. The Rev. Roger Punt and Rev. Bryce Hoyt officiated. Organist was Linda Schnell and Sylvia Van Genderen was the vocalist.
Interment was held at Swan Cemetery in Lynnville. Casket bearers were Gary Beyer, Dennis Beyer, Dan Beyer, Brian Beyer, Chad Conover, Tom Renaud. Honorary Casket Bearer Ben Ross.
Ben Beyer was born on January 20, 1922 to John and Trinnie (Eling) Beyer. He attended Taylor School through the 8th grade. Ben enlisted in the army in 1942 and spent almost four years in the South Pacific during World War II. Ben and (Darlene) Sandy Beyer were joined in marriage on August 4, 1949 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. To this union were born six children: Bryce, Craig, Dennis, Sharon, Jan, and Kathy. Ben was a faithful member of the First Reformed Church in Sully.
Ben is survived by his wife, Sandy, two sons: Bryce and Dennis of Lynnville; three daughters and their husbands: Sharon and Dean Renaud of Sully, Jan and Wes Conover of Sully, and Kathy Beyer and Chuck Ross of Hinesburg, Ver.; eight grandchildren; his four sisters: Marie Bokhoven of Pella, and Jeanetta Olsthoorn, Nellie and Leo Vande Krol, Pauline and Melvin Nikkel of Sully; and two sisters-in-law: Leora Beyer of Sully and Lucille Beyer of Greenville, S.C.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Craig, and his four brothers: Frank, Paul, Chris and Fred; and a sister in infancy: Grace.
Memorials can be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association.
Funearl arrangements were handled by Garden Chapel Funeral Home in Pella.
