Funeral services for William Andriga, 89, of Pella, who passed away Sept. 4 at Pella Regional Health Center, were held Sept. 8 at First Christian Reformed Church in Pella. The Rev. Harvey Brink officiated and Edith Meppelink was the organist. Sandy Ver Meer and Jerry De Boef were soloists.

Committal services were held a the Peoria Cemetery in Peoria with the Rev. Stephen Veldhuis presiding. Honorary casket bearers were Kurtis Vernooy, Stacy May, and Melanie Fopma. Casket bearers were his grandsons.

William Andringa was born on January 30, 1914 in Pella. He was the youngest of six children that were born to Gerrit W. and Antje (Anna) Vande Lune Andringa

On November 26, 1940 he was united in marriage with Jeanette Stuursma. They were married at the home of her parents, John J. and Durkie Postma Stuursma, near Peoria. Following their marriage, they moved to the farm of his parents northwest of Peoria where they farmed for 33 years.

Bill and Jeanette were blessed with three daughters: Donna Mae, Alva Jean and Linda Kay. In 1973, they moved to 1104 Liberty Street in Pella.

Bill then did factory work for Ring-O-Matic in Pella and later did custodial work for the Pella Community Schools. On December 17, 1995, Jeanette passed away age of 82 years. Following her death, Bill continued living in their home until becoming a resident at Hilltop Manor North in 1998. Bill was baptized at the First Christian Reformed Church in Pella, Iowa and made profession of his faith at the Peoria Christian Reformed Church in Peoria, Iowa where he was a member until moving to Pella. He then became a member of the First Christian Reformed Church where he was a member at the time of his death.

Bill is survived by his three daughters and their husbands: Donna and Bill Vernooy of Pella; Alva and Marv De Boef of Pella; and Linda and Allen May of Urbandale; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Healso leaves his brother-in-law, Conrad De Vries and a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Bertha (Stuursma) and Wilbur Roose all of Pella.

Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette (Stuursma) Andringa; his grandson, Kurt Vernooy; his parents: Gerrit W. and Anna Andringa; his four sisters: Irene (Henry) Nieuwsma, Wilhelmina (Paul) Nieuwsma, Hattie (Peter) Rus, Jr., Anna (Conrad) De Vries; his only brother, Gerrit G. Andringa; and two sisters-in-law: Effie (Jacob) Dahm and Ella (Gerrit G.) Andringa.
