Services for Mable Marie Jones, 95, of Knoxville, who died July 16, 1990 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, were held July 18 at Williams Funeral Home. Interment was in Graceland Cemetery.
Rev Raymond Moore officiated at the services. Music was provided by Darlene Moooberry, organist.
Pallbearers wereTom Bailey, Brian Bruce, and Tim Chambers, Dean Jones and Richard Tonda. Honorary bearers were Richard Black and Don Wickliff.
Mrs. Jones was born Oct. 4, 1894 in the Coal Ridge area of Marion County, the daughter of John and Addie Davis DeMoss. She attended country school in the Coal Ridge Area
On March 8, 1916 she married Raymond Merle Jones at the home of her parents in Knoxville. She farmed with her husband in and around the Knoxville area until retiring to Knoxville in 1968.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1968; her parents; one daughter Bonnie Jean; two sisters, Maude Betterton and Zoe Frederick; and one brother, Loren.
She is survived by three grandsons, Tim and Brian Chambers, both of Knoxville, and Bruce Chambers of Melcher-Dallas; one great-granddaughter, Nicole DeVore; three nieces, Lorain Kingery, Arlene Bailey, and Mary Margaret Black, all of Knoxville; and one nephew, Ted Jones of Torrance, Calif.
A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church Radio Ministry.
