Edna Wares 1901-1991

Obituary - Services for Edna Christina Wares, 90, of Knoxville, who passed away April 1, 1991, were held at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home on April 3.

Rev. Raymond Moore officiated at the service. Music was provided by organist James Kidder.

Pall bearers were Steven Wares, George Wares, John Walston, Dennis Wares, Ronald Wares, Randy Bennett, Mike Bennett, and Rick Bennett.

Edna Christina Wares, the daughter of William P. and Yetska Debok Roff, was born on March 28, 1901 in Marion County.

She was united in marriage to Oda Wares on December 29, 1920 and the couple farmed until his death in May of 1961. Edna continued to make her home on the farm for several years and then moved to Knoxville.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oda, a son, Donald Wares and her granddaughter Janet Wares Young. Also preceding her in death were four brothers and seven sisters.

Surviving members of her family are her two sons, Jack Wares and wife Kitty of Knoxville; Larry Wares and wife Gertrude of Pleasantville; two daughters Jean Walston and Margie Paschall and husband Daryl, all of Knoxville; 16 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; her brother George Roff and daughter-in-law Darlene Wares, the widow of Donald Wares, both of Knoxville.

Memorials have been established to the First United Methodist Church of Knoxville.
