Obituary - William Lester Roff was born in Pennsylvania October 9, 1848 and died at his home, January 11, 1923, aged 74 years 3 months 2 days.
He was united in marriage with Yetska De Bok at Pella, Iowa February. 25, 1877. To this union was born 13 children, four having preceded him in death. He leaves, besides his wife, nine children, Lucy Fee, Hattie Fee, Della Sharp and Charley Roff of this city; Anna Rees of Gorwood, TX.; Maggie Roush and Edna Wares of Monroe; George Roff of Cordova; and Wallace at home. He leaves besides his wife and children two brothers, Henry and John and twenty-five grandchildren.Mr. Roff came to Marion County in 1869. In 1884 he moved to Kansas, remaining one year, thence to Missouri for nine years, returning to the old farm north of Cordova twenty-six years ago, where he resided until the time of his death.
Funeral services were held at the Methodist church in Monroe Saturday morning, conducted by Rev. E.E. Ilgenfritz. Appropriate music was furnished. Interment was in the Monroe cemetery.
