Obituary - Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Roff, who died Jan. 13, at Wilden Hospital, Des Moines were held from Knoxville First Christian church, Saturday Jan. 14 with Rev. William Travis and Rev. Tracy Chamberlain officiating. Burial was in Lincoln Cemetery.
Casket bearers were Ferris Baysinger, Clifford Hicks, Walter Hayes, Worth Rankin Jr., Larry Worthington and Harold Frey. Mrs Owen Elliott organist, accompanied Mrs. Tracy Chamberlain, soloist.
Hazel Marie, daughter of Eli J. and Ella Bennett, was born in Marion county, Jan. 29, 1903. On Dec. 3., 1919 she was united in marriage to George Roff at Des Moines. She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister Mrs. Ruth Shaffer; one grandson and one great-grandson.
Survivors are her husband, George; two daughter, Mrs. Lloyd (Irma) Karr, Knoxville, and Mrs. Eugene (Velta) Light, Pleasantville; two sons, Robert and Lester, Pleasantville; Leslie Shaffer, whom they raised, Ralston. Neb; three brothers Roy of Turin, Loren of Pleasantville, and Elmer of Knoxville, 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
