Services for Charles Roscoe Hodgson, who died Jan. 2, (1989) were held Jan. 4 at Williams Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Boyd officiating. Music was provided by Mrs. Joan Arnott, organist and Dr. Gordon Arnott, soloist. Casket bearers were David McKinley,Dwight Orr, Vernon Orr, Charles Reimer, Noel Shinn, Jr., and Harold Wolf. Honorary bearers were Charles Clark, Albert Engstrom and Thomas Mott. Interment was in Ruckman Cemetery in Marion county.

He was born May 4, 1910 in Pleasantville, the son of C.O. Hodgson and Madge Marie (Amos ) Hodgson. He was united in marriage to Roberta Karr on September 3, 1938 at the Little Brown Church in the Vale at Nashua, Iowa. They lived and farmed with his father in the Pinchey area northeast of Pleasantville until 1952. They moved to a location north of Knoxville where they farmed until 1969. He then worked at the Pleasant Care Nursing Home for seven years and mowed roadsides for the county until his health declined and had to retire. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Knoxville.

He is survived by his wife, Roberta of Knoxville; seven sisters, Mabel Peterson of West Des Moines, Rae Hunt of Cedar Rapids, Ethel Emerson of Indianapolis , Indiana, Greta Sinnard of Waterloo, Rebecca Krichau of Pleasantville,Norma Jean Hibbel of Caldwell, Idaho and Ivena Parrish of Littleton, Colorado; and many other nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Memorials are to be directed to his family.
