OBITUARY FOR HAROLD L. KARR

Funeral services for Harold LaRue Karr of Knoxville, who passed away January 4, 1979 in Cape Coral, Fla., were held Jan. 8 at Willliams Funeral Home in Knoxville

Officiating at the services was Rev. William Travis. Music for the services was provided by Mrs. Gordan Arnott, organist, and Dr. Gordon Arnott, vocalist.

Casket bearers were Ralph Stewart, Robert Crozier, Harlan Pearson, Lyman Smith, Amos Jones and Van Gee.

Interment was in Ruckman Cemetery, Marion County.

Harold Karr, son of Thomas Burton and Cora Jane Teter Karr, was born April 11, 1913 at Red Rock in Marion County,(Iowa)

On June 13, 1934 he was united in marriage to Helen Powers at Princeton, Missouri. They lived north of Knoxville where Harold was engaged in farming. He was also employed as a hail insurance adjustor.

He helped to organize the National Farmers Organization and was active in it for many years. He was Democratic County Chairman and was sent as a delegate to the National Democratic convention in Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his father and one brother.

Survivors include his wife; his mother; two sons, Paul of Blair, Neb., and James of Mt Carroll, Ill.; one daughter, Mrs Michael (Kathryn) West of Livingston, Montana; one brother, Lloyd of Knoxville; two sisters, Mrs. Cecil Price and Mrs. Charles (Roberta) Hodgson, both of Knoxville; and nine grandchildren.
