Graveside services for Mabel Josephine Perry, 98, of Knoxville, who died on Sunday, October 29, 2000, at Westridge Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Knoxville, will be held on Friday, November 3, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Terry Perry will officiate at the services.

Mabel was born on July 25, 1902, in Knoxville, the daughter of Nellie Stoops and Fenley Miller. She was one of ten children in the family. She grew up and attended school in Knoxville.

She married Thomas F. Perry in Knoxville in May of 1921. To this union, five children were born. Mabel and Thomas lived in Kansas and Des Moines where Mabel worked at Younkers. They moved to California in 1976 but returned to Knoxville in 1981.

Mabel enjoyed making a house a home for her family. She loved to cook.

Mabel was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one infant daughter, Jacqueline; one daughter, Phyllis; one son, Norman; five brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Barbara J. and Arthur Anderson of Knoxville and Marilyn Bachman of Sherwood, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Association.

Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home.
