Funeral services for Anna Lucille Koopman, 90, of Knoxville, who died on Saturday, November 18, 2000, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, were held on Wednesday, November 22, at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Rev. Robert Reiss officiated at the services. Music was provided by Katie Davis, vocalist, and Jim Kidder, organist.

Interment was at Dallas Cemetery. Casket bearers were Alex Barbour, Richard Bennett, Richard Bennett, Jr., Tom Compiano, Bob Roush, and Bill Thomas.

Anna was born on December 13, 1909 in Everist to Elizabeth Anthony and William Thomas. She grew up in the Germantown and Dallas areas. She graduated from the Dallas High School in 1927.

She was married to Nicholus Koopman. They had lived in the Melcher-Dallas area, about 20 years in Des Moines and the remainder of the time in Knoxville.

Anna had her first job as a telephone operator in Melcher. She was a cook at the Swift Hotel dining room, the Royal Pastry Shop and later at North Elementary in Knoxville.

She enjoyed raising flowers in her garden and watching birds.

Anna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three sisters and three brothers.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Friendship Christian Church in Knoxville.

Arrangements were made by Williams Funeral Home.
