Funeral services for Johanna Kathryn Kelderman, 79, of Pella, who died on Tuesday, October 17, 2000, at the Pella Regional Health Center, were held on Friday, October 20, at the Tracy Christian Reformed Church. Alvin Bandstra officiated at the services. Carolyn Veenstra was organist.

Interment was at Bethel Cemetery near Tracy. Casket bearers were grandsons Bryce, Randy, Curt, Ryan, and Kevin Kelderman, Roger Jones and Scott Jochems.

Jo was born on December 30, 1920, near Tracy, the daughter of Arnold Jacob and Bertha Janssen Beekhuizen. She attended Tracy schools and graduated from Tracy High School with the Class of 1939.

She married William Cornie Kelderman on February 10, 1942, at her parents home. Jo and her husband spent most of their married life farming in the Tracy area. She was a very dedicated homemaker for her farm family. Following retirement, they moved to Pella.

Jo was a longtime member of the Tracy Christian Reformed Church in Tracy where she served as a Sunday School teacher and was a member of the Martha Circle for 50 years. She enjoyed needlework and gardening.

Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; a daughter, Nancy; her parents; and a brother, Arnold Jacob Beekhuizen.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Wilbur and Nancy Kelderman of Tracy and Arvin and Judy Kelderman of Pella; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Gary Jochems of Sully; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters, Alice Beekhuizen of Pella, Grace Groenendyk of Des Moines, and Marie Van Maanen of Pella; and two brothers, John and Bert Beekhuizen, both of Pella.

Arrangements were made by VanDyk-Duven Funeral Home.
