Funeral services for Robert D. Harvey, 82, of Oskaloosa, who died on Monday, October 2, 2000 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Knoxville, were held on Wednesday, October 4, at Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa. Pastor Alvern Boetsma officiated at the services.

Interment was at Forest Cemetery, with military rites accorded by members of Oskaloosa V.F.W. and American Legion.

Bob was born on July 26, 1918 in Knoxville to Frank and Beulah (Worstell) Harvey. He served in the South Pacific in the United States Navy during World War II. He also worked in coal mines in the Knoxville area.

Bob was married to Louise Vander Linden and later divorced. He married Jennie Musgrove on June 20, 1953 in Nashua.

He worked at the old Kalbach Lumber in Oskaloosa, and later was employed at Superior Ideal Manufacturing in Oskaloosa, retiring at age 62.

He was a life member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; and a great-grandson, Colter Ford.

He is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Sandra Williams of Knoxville and Edna and Joe Beal of Oskaloosa; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a great-grandson; and several cousins.

Memorials may be made to the Veterans Administration Volunteer Services in Knoxville.

Arrangements were made by Bates Funeral Chapel in Oskaloosa.
