Funeral services for Gerald S. Harrison, 75, of Lovilia, who died on Tuesday, August 15, 2000 at his home, were held on Saturday, August 19, at the Bussey United Methodist Church. Revs. Charlie McMillian and Sam Subramanian officiated at the services.

Interment was at the Hamilton Cemetery. Pallbearers were Jack Reed, Steve Reed, Jim Lanphier, Arlos Hunt, Mike Harrison and Kim Vanderlinden. Honorary pallbearers were Russell Hunt, Marion Vanderlinden, Don Lanphier, Rex Metheny, Bill McCombs, Mike Lenger, Matt Lenger and Cory Conner.

Gerald was born on February 14, 1925 in Hamilton, the son of William H. and Ethel F. Richmond Harrison.

Gerald married Clara Mae Garrison on April 27, 1947 in Cedar Falls. He was owner and operator of the "Bidway Auction Center" in Lovilia after graduation from the Reisch Schools of Auctioneering in Mason City.

Gerald was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

He is survived by his wife, Clara of Lovilia; two brothers, Robert and Donald; four sisters, Ruth Hunt, Barbara Rodgers, Meg Vanderlinden and Beverly Lanphier.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Central Iowa.

Arrangements were made by Gilbert-Nordstrom Funeral Home.
