Memorial services for Clifton Dwayne Forbes, 40, of Knoxville, who died on Tuesday, August 29, 2000, were held on Friday, September 1, at Williams Funeral Home. Mr. Forbes was cremated.

Clifton was born on August 4, 1960 in Hamlin, Texas. He was the son of Janis Williams and Eugene Forbes. Clifton was one of two children in the family.

He attended and graduated from the Sweetwater, Texas High School in 1978. After graduation Clifton worked on construction doing painting, papering and other remodeling throughout Texas. He moved to Knoxville about four years ago to work as a cable TV installer.

He was married to Brenda Sue Heaton on September 24, 1999 in Harvey.

Clifton was preceded in death by his mother.

He is survived by his wife, Brenda, of Knoxville; seven children, Clifton Dwayne Forbes II, Toby Ryan Forbes and Jade Forbes of Sweetwater, Texas, Kalene, Kyle, Brandon and Lindsay; his father, Eugene Forbes of Sweetwater, Texas; one brother, Arlin Forbes of Sweetwater, Texas as well as other relatives and friends.

Memorials may be made to his family.
