A memorial service for Helen Elizabeth Elliott, 77, of Shallow Water, KS, who died March 4, 2000, in Elkhart, Kansas were held March 10, at the Gospel Fellowship Church in Shallow Water Kansas. Pastor Warren Rikard officiated at the services. Burial was at Scott County Cemetery.

Helen was born on April 2, 1922 in Knoxville the daughter of Scott L and Zeina Dell Butcher Palmer. She moved to Garden City, Kansas in 1950 from Knoxville where she worked as a waitress and at the Sears Roebuck Company. She moved to Maldsonville, Kentucky in 1968, and then to Shallow Water, Kansas in 1977.

She was an active blood donor for the American Red Cross, having given a total of 81 pints of blood over the years. She remembered her son, Carl Scott Elliott, a career army man now stationed in Germany, every time she generously donated blood. She was a homemaker whose hobbies included embroidery work when making baby quilts for family and friends, raising houseplants, and collecting bells.

On November 22, 1939, Helen married Carl L. Elliott. Helen then married Odis Gosnell in May of 1950. Odis passed away in February of 1984. She then remarried Carl L. Elliott on December 17, 1977. Carl passed away June 5, 1996 in Scott City, Kansas.

She was a member of Gospel Fellowship Church in Shallow Water, KS, the VFW in Scott City, KS and Gold Star Mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, and three brothers.

She is survived by one son, Carl Elliott, Kaiserslautern, Germany and three daughters, Mary Helen Harp, Guymon, Oklahoma; Traci Blundel, Satanta, Kansas; and Pat Daubert, Scott City, Kansas.

A memorial may be made to Helen Elliott Memorial Fund at Price and Sons Funeral Home.

Arrangements were made by Price and Sons Funeral Home in Scott City, Kansas.
