Memorial services for Beverly A. Clark, 77, of Nevada, who died Thursday March 9, 2000 at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames from Pancreatic cancer, were held March 13, 2000 at the Nevada Christian Church with Dr. Fred Danforth officiated at the services. Private graveside services will be held later in the day in the Pleasantville Cemetery in Pleasantville.

Beverly was born September 23, 1922 in Pleasantville, the daughter of Preston and Gladys (Galvin) Barringer. Beverly's mother died when Beverly was six years old and was raised in the Bare's loving home in Pleasantville.

She was united in marriage to William "Bill" Edward Pitt November 20, 1944 in Washington, D.C.; she later married Robert J. Clark December 25, 1978 in La Cresenta, California.

Beverly was a former cheerleader at Pleasantville High School and Simpson College. After attending Simpson College, Beverly attended Airlines Communication School for one year.

Beverly was the Outreach Specialist for the Council on Aging. She was a member of the Nevada Christian Church; Church Women United; taught Sunday School; V.F.W. Auxiliary; the Brush Club; the Literary Club; was active in Story County Democratic Politics; was a volunteer for community agencies; served as hostess at the Senior meals; was a troop leader for several Girl Scout and Blue Bird Groups, and will be remembered as the "Bag Lady" on the Nevada Access channel.

She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son; a grandchild; and a sister; Marilyn Fisher.

She is survived by her husband, Robert J. Clark of Nevada; three daughters Sue Richardson, Oceanside, California; Emily Deason, Fountain, Colorado; and Mary Ann Seligman of Golden, Colorado; a brother Jack Bare of Pleasantville; a beloved nephew; Charles Fisher of Knoxville, Iowa; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

A memorial fund has been established to Nevada Senior Citizen Center.

Arrangements were made by Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada.
