Funeral services for Hattie Breuklander, 69, of Knoxville, who died March 8, 2000, were held March 11 at Evans-McCleery Funeral Home. Pastor Ralph Kessler officiated at the services. Burial was at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville.

Casketbearers were Paul Beyer, Hank Vander Heiden, Ralph Sorenson, Marc Held, Roland Joiner, and Dick Breuklander.

Hattie was born on December 2, 1930 in Clifton Hill, Missouri, the daughter of Claud and Edna Joiner Wright. The family later moved to Waukee, Iowa where she graduated from high school.

She married Edward Breuklander on October 30, 1951 in Indianola, Iowa. They lived in Des Moines, Pella, Carlisle and Pleasantville, before moving to Knoxville six years ago.

In addition to being a mother and homemaker, Hattie retired in 1988 from the housekeeping department at Westridge Manor in Knoxville after 12 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters.

She is survived by her husband of Knoxville; three sons, Michael of Pella,, Eddie of Indianola and Terry of Knoxville; two sisters, Marge Chapman of Adel, Iowa and Judy Hayes of Dallas Center; two brothers, Billy Wright of California and Robert Wright of De Soto, Iowa; ten grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the family.

Arrangements were made by Evans-McCleery Funeral Home.
