Graveside memorial services for Thelma Lee "Pat" Young, 81, of Knoxville, who died on Saturday, April 14, 2001, at the Pleasant Care Living Center in Pleasantville, were held on Thursday, April 19, at Graceland Cemetery in Knoxville. Rev. Peter J. Peterson officiated at the services. Honorary casket bearers were Jim, Charles John and Joe Young.

Thelma was born on June 8, 1919 in Logan County, W.V. She was the daughter of Edward and Wealthy (Conly) Dingess. She was raised in Logan County.

She married Charles Young on January 10, 1940. The couple lived in Los Angeles before moving to Knoxville in 1944. Pat had worked at the County Care Facility and for West Ridge Nursing Home.

She enjoyed being outside and tending to her garden. She also enjoyed spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; one sister and one brother.

She is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sharon of Knoxville, Chuck and Steph of Ames, John and Gail of Knoxville and Joe and Nancy of West Minster, Calif.; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nary and Inez of West Virginia; and many other family members and friends.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
